Rosalie J. Wolf is Founding Partner of Botanica Capital Partners LLC, which provides governance and endowment consulting advice and services to Boards and Investment Committees of institutional investors and family offices with sizeable assets.
Ms. Wolf has extensive experience as a senior financial and investment officer for Fortune 500 companies, Wall Street investment banks, and large investment management firms. From 1994 to 2000, she was Treasurer and Chief Investment Officer of The Rockefeller Foundation, where she led the restructuring of the $3.8 billion endowment. After leaving The Rockefeller Foundation to return to the private sector in 2000, Ms. Wolf joined a predecessor firm of Hall Capital, a large wealth management firm, as a partner and member of its Investment Committee. She founded and built the firm’s private equity fund of funds and ran its $1.5 billion private equity business before establishing Botanica Capital Partners in 2004.
Earlier, Ms. Wolf was a Managing Director at Bankers Trust, where she co-headed private equity investments and was a Managing Director in Corporate Finance. She served as a partner in AEW, a Boston-based real estate investment firm, and prior to that as a principal in the Sprout Group, DLJ’s private equity business. Her corporate career included roles at International Paper Company as Treasurer, Assistant Corporate Controller, and Named Fiduciary for the Company’s defined benefit and defined contribution plans; she also had fifteen years of global financial experience at Mobil Oil where she served in various international strategic planning and treasury roles.
Ms. Wolf was for seventeen years a Trustee of TIAA, where she chaired the Audit Committee and served on the Investment and Executive Committees. She served from 2000 until 2015 as a Director, and was for five years Chairman of the Board of a mutual fund group at AllianceBernstein. She has had numerous other board roles at for profit and non profit entities.
Ms. Wolf holds A.B. and M.A. degrees in mathematics from Wellesley College, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, and Northwestern University, where she was a teaching fellow. She has lectured at universities and industry programs and taught Endowment Management at the Columbia University Graduate School of Business.
Ms. Wolf resides in Manhattan and Westport, CT.
