Jeannine G. Caruso has extensive experience in both endowment management and private equity. She has specialized in constructing global, risk-aware portfolios while recognizing the critical importance of appropriate governance policies to align the goals of the portfolio with those of the investor. With respect to manager research, she has demonstrated knowledge and experience across asset classes and investment strategies: public equities, credit, hedge funds, energy, private equity, venture capital and direct investments.
Ms. Caruso works extensively with Botanica Capital Partners, where she is fully engaged and may serve as the primary advisor on key assignments. She is also the Managing Partner at Arroyo Partners LLC through which she conducts her board and related activities. From 2014 to 2021, she served as a partner and senior managing director at New Providence Asset Management, an outsourced investment office managing customized portfolios across traditional and alternative asset classes on a discretionary basis for foundations, endowments and family office clients. Ms. Caruso was a member of the firm’s senior investment team, served as the portfolio manager for client accounts representing a significant portion of the firm’s capital and led the firm’s venture capital and private equity investment practice. She partnered with individual clients to develop bespoke governance policies and investment policy statements to ensure effective portfolio management.
Prior to joining New Providence, Ms. Caruso was the Chief Investment Officer of The Dyson Foundation where she was responsible for establishing both the structure as well as the strategy for this investment office along with its implementation. She began her career at Shearson Lehman Brothers as an analyst in the Corporate Finance department. Ms. Caruso then worked at The Dyson–Kissner–Moran Corporation, a middle–market private equity firm, where she participated in all facets of corporate buyouts while also serving on the Board of Directors for portfolio companies and serving as interim President of a global portfolio company, initiating and leading its operational turnaround.
Ms. Caruso currently serves as an independent Board Member and the Chair of the Audit Committee for Tweedy, Browne Fund Inc., a mutual fund complex. She also serves on the Investment Committee of The Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust and the Finance and Investment Committee for the endowment of The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, a children’s charity.
Ms. Caruso earned her MBA from Harvard University and her BS from Brown University in Applied Mathematics and Economics, magna cum laude.
